Upcoming Telugu actress from Nagpur Sunaina, who made her debut recently in the film Tenth class, got an oral drubbing (Pun Unintended) from a few concerned members of the censor board for the unwarranted exposure of her body in her debut film. Sunaina, who is also doing a Tamil film, will be seen in the soon-to-be released flick ‘Something Something’.
Asked by this scribe about her reaction to the censor board members’ cautioning, the teenager retorted, “Look, I just passed out TENTH CLASS. This is the age for me to experiment with clothes. How can someone expect me to be draped from top to bottom in a sari?” Well, let those experiments be done with clothes, not without!

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

There is still another three months before the August 25 release of Rajkumar Hirani’s sequel to the hilarious Munnabhai M.B.B.S. However, the film has already become hot property among distributors. According to Nizam distributor Ravi Machchar, who recently acquired Munnabhai 2nd Innings, and happened to see the rushes, the movie is a laugh riot and has got the best of the electrifying chemistry between Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. “It is entertaining to the core and rich in its production values. Also, the new addition — Vidya Balan is definitely a welcome change,” he says. The producers are also said to be getting queries from enterprising south producers, who have evinced keen interest in the remaking rights of the sequel. The Telugu remaking rights of the original version were reportedly sold for a whopping Rs 1.7 crores. The remake titled Shankar Dada, proved to be a big hit.

Mallika Shows Her Weight

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

“IT’S all about money, honey…” Probably that’s how actor Mallika Sherawat must’ve reacted when the organisers of a recent world tour decided to sell the telecast rights of the show to television channels. Unlike the other stars like Salman Khan (who’s also one of the organisers of the show), John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor, Zayed Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Esha Deol, who are also a part of the tour, Mallika is the only one who demanded more money from the organisers before they could carry on with a shoot for a TV channel. She apparently told them, “Pay me my price and then carry on with the shoot.” An industry source said, “The actor is justified in asking for more as the organisers have also earned from the telecast rights. Besides, it’s believed that the actors were unaware that the rights were being sold to a TV channel.” Apparently, Salman assured them a substantial remuneration for participating in the show. “Mallika is the only one who cares a damn about anyone,” says the source.
