Sexy Cricket Commentator on Telugu Screen

Friday, June 30th, 2006

Mandira Bedi is known for every cricket lover. She made the heads of non-Cricket-lovers also turn towards idiot boxes while the matches were relayed. Beauty, attractive features, alluring costumes and lively commentary are Mandira’s paraphernalia. Although innumerable opportunities to act in films have come to her way, she has chosen very meticulously. She had appeared as a flash in Simbhu’s ‘Manmadhan’ that was also dubbed in Telugu. She is now, debuting into direct Telugu film with full length role.
The shooting activities of the film were started on 23rd of this month. Nidhi Prasad who was known with the films ‘Nidhi’, ‘Andaru Dongale Dorikithey’ and ‘Kalusukovalani’ is directing this new film in the production of Raju and Praveen on the banner of ‘Silver Screen Productions’.
A senior hero is also playing a key role in the film along with another young pair.

NTR Adds ‘Weight’ To His Film ‘Ashok’

Friday, June 30th, 2006

Now a days NTR Jr may be happy as the initial reports of his next flick ‘Ashok’ are encouraging. With ‘Ashok’ he wants to regain his position in Tollywood.
While heroes prefer to look reedy, NTR is going the other way round, and looking bloated, and indeed he has always been an actor with extra flab. But according to the industry sources he is looking more bulky in the recent promos of ‘Ashok’.
NTR Jr’s family is not only the most influential and known for bulkiness in Tollywood. Except for Taraka Ratna (who looks lean) most of the actors from the family starting with NTR himself down to Balakrishna and Harikrishna have been richly endowed with weight.
But at this figure conscious juncture, NTR Jr cannot afford to look the way he does now. Already there are remarks about why he never tucks in his shirt. To be fair, NTR Jr is sprightly and zestful than many of his contemporaries. He is robust in fights and dances with rare gusto.
The actor is also said to be conscious of the weighty problem. He has vowed, according to his close pals, he is going to cut down on his weight. He actually did that at the start of Ashok. But soon fell back on old ways. But now the pressure is real and more pressing. He has to add weight to his films and not himself. So it is rumored that he is going to some undisclosed location to shed his over weight after the release of ‘Ashok’.
If it is true we are going to see smart and thin Jr.NTR soon.

Anara was in the news recently for her alleged acting in a blue film, which was circulated in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country. She subsequently filed a case in the court and it was proved that she did not act in the film, but it was only morphing of her image on another model. She shot into limelight after that episode. It is not yet known who is the producer and director and who will be her hero in the film, but the reports have already caused a sensation in the industry!

After working on a slew of films, Rakshitha is taking a chill pill. But if you thought the actress is sitting back relaxing and having a good time, it’s not so. Raks has kept herself busy and has enrolled herself for a three day course in the art of make-up. “I love make-up, I think it’s really fascinating. Just look at what a little make-up can do to a person’s face, it’s so amazing! Besides I know actresses are usually good at the job, but I want to go a step ahead and become a pro,” says Raks. Well, as per the grapevine, she was tonsured for medical treatment. Hence she managed wearing a big wig. The people who watched her in that wig in the shooting and in TV said that the wig looked very artificial. But unit members said that the cameraman could manage that with his skill. We have to wait and see how Arthi looked different in wig from other frames.

Chiranjeevi Loves the People Who Hate Him

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

In a function that took place after Chiranjeevi’s Padmabhushan felicitation by Film Industry, Mohan Babu attended a function that’s related to Nagarjuna. Mohan Babu said that Nag is very jovial in many matters and never takes anything serious like others. “Many take issues seriously and talk irrelevantly. But Nag is different from them”, he implied then. People read between the lines of that statement. Freshly, Chiranjeevi underlined an expression during T. Subba Rami Reddy’s function that was held a couple of days ago. He said that he learned smile from Subbarami Reddy who looks happy with smile on his face without any tension. “I have been practicing that from many years and now I could achieve something out of it”, he added. Above all he said, “I have also learned how to love people from TSR. I keep loving people even though they hate me. Only with that I have been living peacefully and happily”. Well, it’s ‘love’ that answers everything. Love can do anything. Love can kill hatred as well. Let us wish that big heads in industry love each other and kill misunderstandings among their fans.

Off Screen ‘Dress Code’ of Chiru, Nag and Bala

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

Film personalities cannot be restricted to dress code on screen. They need to wear various types. But off the screen many maintain the typical dress code. In Tamilnadu, MGR maintained his woolen cap and goggles after he turned CM. Karunanidhi is typically seen with black spectacles and yellow uttareeyam. Even NTR for quite long time appeared in saffron attire and later switched on to white. Now, looking into the dress code of various film personalities it gives an understanding that Mohan babu has started his new style as he is not leaving his cow boy hat anytime. Coming to others, Chiranjeevi most of the time appears in white shirt and a dark trouser. Nagarjuna opts for fashion ware while Venkatesh looks different all the while. Bala Krishna appears in suit and blazers very frequently. Apart from regular heroes, ANR always covers his neck with traditional attire and Paruchuri Gopalakrishna never leaves his red ‘uttareeyam’. T Subbarami Reddy, many a time prefers dark waist coats. Super Star Krishna always looks in white and white attire. Like common man, Chiranjeevi looks in normal pants and shirts when he is the guest in any show. But if the show has to project Chiranjeevi as hero, he appears in rich sherwanis. The very frequent appearance of all these film figures in public places is throwing more focus on their dress codes.
